USB Drive Letter Manager (USBDLM) – allows you to assign a custom drive letter to any USB device connected to your computer.
Because it runs as a Windows service, the logged-on user does not need administrative privileges to change the drive letters.
• reserve letters so they are not used for local drives • assign a letter from a list of new default letters, which are based on many different criteria, including the active user, drive type, connection (USB, FireWire), USB port, volume label, size, and others.
• assign letters to a specific USB drive by placing an INI file on the drive • disable card reader drive letters until a card is inserted • display a balloon tip with the assigned drive letter(s) • define autorun events based on a variety of criteria • and much more, see the help file, which is also available online as an HTML version.
